How does it work?
Electricity cost = (Power W × Time h / 1000) × Price €/kWh. The result is in kWh — the unit your electricity bill uses.
All electricity prices shown are example prices. Enter your actual contracted rate.
Typical appliance power ratings:
- LED bulb: 5–15 W
- 65" TV: 80–150 W
- Refrigerator: 30–80 W (runs continuously)
- Washing machine: 1500–2200 W
- Water heater (100L): 1500–2000 W, 2–4 h/day
- Electric heater: 1000–2500 W
Example
Example: Electric heater 1000 W, 6 h/day, 120 days/year, 0.18 €/kWh (example).
kWh per day: 1000 × 6 / 1000 = 6 kWh
Total kWh: 6 × 120 = 720 kWh
Cost: 720 × 0.18 = €129.60 (example price)
Assumptions
- •Power rating assumed constant — in practice it varies (fridge cycles, etc.)
- •Electricity price is an example — use your actual rate
- •Standby power not included — use the standby cost calculator
